Falkirk East MSP Angus MacDonald has welcomed the announcement that the Scottish Government is to provide funding for a new Carrongrange ASN School. The new funding will allow the school to be built faster and sooner than planned.
Last week’s Scottish Government budget brought forward £80m of the cash as part of a £1.25billion investment to ensure the school projects get underway quicker.
Welcoming the news, Falkirk East MSP Angus MacDonald said:
“Thanks to the SNP Government we’ll see a new Carrongrange ASN School built sooner rather than later.
“Even more pupils from across Falkirk district will benefit from top-quality classrooms as a result of the beginning of phase three of Scotland’s Schools for the Future programme and construction workers will benefit from new projects getting started sooner.
“Our young people need, and deserve, the best-possible learning environment in order to allow them to fully flourish.
“This week’s announcement is part of the Scottish Government’s £1.25billion investment in the school building programme to ensure pupils have access to safe and productive learning environments.
“Not only is this a welcome boost for our young people, it will also help Scotland’s construction industry.
“The funding will allow a replacement for the existing Carrongrange School to be built and help to provide some additional accommodation and capacity at the adjacent Larbert High School.
