The SNP kept up its winning run of by-election gains with a spectacular victory in the Kirkcaldy East Ward of Fife Council.
The victory, the SNP’s 6th in tthe 7 by-elections that have taken place since September’s referendum, was all the more significant as it was in the constituency of the former Prime Minister, Gordon Brown and bodes well for May’s Genera; election campaign.
While the result is a humiliation for Brown it is also a major blow to Labour’s new branch office manager, Jim Murphy with the question to him being, if you can’t win in Gordon Brown’s backyard where can you win?
