FALKIRK LABOUR AND TORY CUTS IN SCHOOL WEEK STILL ON THE TABLE ACORDING TO LABOUR CHIEF

gordon-hughesThe issue Falkirk Labour leaders want to go away came back to bite them thanks to an astonishing admission from Labour’s local Education Spokesperson, Alan Nimmo.

Summing up the debate on a Labour motion that was a carbon copy of an SNP motion from the previous week the Labour member was asked if the cuts remained on the table despite comments from Labour leaders. To the astonishment of everyone Nimmo admitted that the cuts were indeed still on the table leaving many with the belief that Labour’s u-turn was more about kicking these into the long grass until after the election on May 7.

SNP Education spokesperson, Cllr Gordon Hughes said,

“This is an Administration whose cynicism is only matched by its incompetence.

Alan Nimmo’s admission that the cuts are still on the table will come as a bombshell to parents the length and breadth of Falkirk district.

What it demonstrates is you can not trust Labour to be honest with the people of this area particularly as education is an investment for the future that benefits the whole community.”
