Hours after the declaration in Denny Primary School that saw SNP candidate, Paul Garner secure a record breaking 69.1% of the overall vote, the popular local activist was hard at work within the council dealing with complaints and enquiries he picked up on polling day.
Having set up his new contact details which includes his direct dial council telephone number, 506282 and email address, email@example.com he clearly elated new Councillor for Denny & Banknock couldn’t wait to get started.
Reflecting on a satisfying result and also looking to the future Cllr Garner said,
“This morning has been a bit of a blur with so much to take in such a very short period of time. The learning curve for this is much greater than I had imagined and what is clear is that no amount of coaching or research prepares you for the deluge of issues that you have to grasp early in order to meet the challenges of being a good local representative.”
Paying tribute to his Denny election team and also his new colleagues Cllr Garner went on to say,
“I am looking forward to working with my 12 fellow SNP members in holding this do nothing Labour / Tory Administration to account.”
The council looks less than democratic and open but I am totally committed to playing a full role in the council to improve services and ensure that the people receive first class representation.”
