SNP Councillor Demands An Apology For Labour Nutter Comment
Cllr David Alexander
Falkirk Council’s SNP Group Leader, David Alexander has demanded an apology from the Labour Party for the people of Falkirk after the national media published a comment from a Labour Party source saying that “it is better Falkirk is represented by a Labour nutter than a Nat.”
The SNP chief believes this is an insult to the people of Falkirk and demonstrates contempt for the people of the constituency.
Said Cllr Alexander,
“I opened my speech at the last meeting of Falkirk Council with the comment that I believed the Labour Party has a very poor opinion of the intelligence of local people.
This scandalous comment from a Labour official confirms my belief that Labour have nothing but contempt for the Falkirk electorate.
Compare the record of the local Labour MP with the record of the local SNP MSP, Michael Matheson and we see that Falkirk isn’t better represented by a Labour nutter than a Nat.
Labour has brought nothing but shame to the people of Falkirk and the very least we should expect is a heart felt apology rather than the arrogant and contemptuous comments to date.”

LAMONT MUST BREAK SILENCE & INVESTIGATE HQ STAFFERS ON ERIC JOYCE
LABOUR HQ SOURCE WOULD RATHER FALKIRK WAS REPRESENTED BY A “NUTTER
RATHER THAN A NAT”
The SNP’s Business Convener, Derek MacKay MSP, has called on the
Scottish Labour leader Johann Lamont to institute an immediate inquiry
into her party’s headquarters staff as the Daily Record editorial
reports that a “Labour HQ source” was quoted saying they would rather
Falkirk was represented by a “nutter rather than a Nat” in light of the
arrest and charging of Labour Falkirk MP Eric Joyce.
As the editorial reports:
“…one Labour HQ source yesterday outrageously announced that Labour
would “rather have a nutter than a Nat” in Falkirk. What a terrible
indictment of the tribal politics that ordinary voters so despise.”
It also reports that “so far, though, there has been no official public
comment from Lamont” reflecting a similar silence over the allegation
that Glasgow Cllr Anne Marie Millar – who resigned from the Labour Party
earlier this month – was threatened with the removal of her son’s
apprenticeship from City Building if she did not vote for the
Labour-controlled council’s budget.
Commenting Mr MacKay said:
“This week’s events involving Eric Joyce are now a matter for the
prosecution services. However the comments and attitude of a source in
Labour’s Scottish headquarters displays a staggering contempt for the
people of Falkirk. They are putting party politics above the interests
of the local community.
“As the leader of the Labour party in Scotland Johann Lamont must
institute an immediate inquiry into her headquarters staff if one of
them is harbouring such a contempt for the electorate.
“However she has been silent on this matter and also the recent
allegations of bullying by a Labour councillor in Glasgow to get their
budget vote through.
“She is responsible for the party in Scotland yet has said nothing
about either incident. She must now launch an immediate inquiry into
this report that someone in her party’s headquarters has made these
remarks and deplore the use of language such as “nutter” by her staff
